UPDATE: Deadlines for Year-end Reports and FY08 Reimbursement Requests Coming Up Soon 8/14/2008
Everyone is reminded that FY08 year-end odometer and statistical reports are due Friday.  Pam reports that she has received several, but most are still outstanding.  She asked that I attach a copy of the NTD reporting instructions as she has been getting a number of questions regarding what needs to be reported in the various sections.  Everyone is also reminded that requests for reimbursement of FY08 expenses should be into out office by this weekend in order to be appropriately... NEWS: Applications for 2009 Intercity Bus Assistance Now Available 8/11/2008
Application materials for Iowa’s Intercity Bus Assistance program have been posted to our website at http://www.iatransit.com/resources/applications.asp.  Included is a description of the program and the various categories of projects that may be applied for.  Completed applications must be received by this office by close of business October 1, 2008.  Project award decisions are anticipated to be made at the Iowa transportation Commission meeting in December, with project periods... UPDATE: Commission Approves FY09 Transit Program 7/15/2008
The Iowa Transportation Commission approved the FY09 Transit Program at their meeting this morning.  This includes both programs such as State Transit Assistance and the federal Non-urbanized Formula Program and Special Needs Program, which are distributed based on formulas established in administrative rules.  It also includes the state’s Public Transit Infrastructure Grant program, the federal Job Access/Reverse Commute program and the federal New Freedom program that are awarded on... Systems of the YearThose of you who were at the IPTA awards banquet last Thursday night heard who got the Regional and Urban Transit System of the Year awards for FY07, but you didn’t get to hear who else performed well on our two criteria, which are 1) increase in ridership and 2) decrease in cost per ride---because the stats got separated from the award plaques. UPDATE: No Smoking Signs per Iowa's New Law 7/1/2008
Sorry.  When I sent out yesterday’s Update, I meant to include information about the signs Iowa Prison Industries is offering in conformance with the new state anti-smoking law that goes into effect today, as we had discussed at the IPTA conference.  I know since the meeting Mark Munson shared with IPTA members an analysis of the impact of the law on Iowa employers, in both the public and private sectors.  His material had one commercial source for signage.  Prison Industries...
