At their monthly meeting this afternoon, the Iowa Transportation Commissioners approved discretionary portions of the FY2011 Transit Program. This included three projects under the Public Transit Infrastructure Grant program, 18 Job Access/Reverse Commute projects, with 10 being for transit systems in small urbanized areas and eight in non-urbanized areas, and 22 New Freedom projects, with 3 being for transit systems serving small urbanized areas and 19 being for systems in non-urbanized parts... FY11 Transit Program RecommendationsStaff recommendations for the competitively awarded FY11 transit programs were presented to the Iowa Transportation Commission this week. This includes the Public Transit infrastructure Grant program, and the JARC and New Freedom programs for both non-urbanized areas and urbanized areas with less than 200K population. The Iowa DOT is hosting a meeting of the Mississippi Valley Conference of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials at the Marriott in downtown Des Moines, July 6-8th. FTA published the final FFY10 formula apportionments in yesterday’s Federal Register. The full notice can be accessed at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2010-05-13/pdf/2010-11479.pdf. I’ve tried to pull out the numbers that relate to Iowa in the attached sheet.
