At their monthly meeting this afternoon, the Iowa Transportation Commissioners approved discretionary portions of the FY2011 Transit Program. This included three projects under the Public Transit Infrastructure Grant program, 18 Job Access/Reverse Commute projects, with 10 being for transit systems in small urbanized areas and eight in non-urbanized areas, and 22 New Freedom projects, with 3 being for transit systems serving small urbanized areas and 19 being for systems in non-urbanized parts ... The Iowa DOT is hosting a meeting of the Mississippi Valley Conference of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials at the Marriott in downtown Des Moines, July 6-8th.
